Word that Paul McCartney was dead spread like wildfire in
the fall of 1969. Clues that led fans to believe he had expired in 1966
and had been replaced by a look-alike suddenly began cropping up everywhere,
and many fans around the world began to mourn his passing.
...Many of the "clues" came from student Fred
Labour, such as:
On the Sgt. Pepper album cover, the band is standing
on a grave...
In "Glass Onion" on the White Album, John
sings, "Here's another clue for you all, the walrus is Paul."...
On the Abbey Road cover, Paul is barefoot...and is
out of step with the others...
On the Magical Mystery Tour cover, three Beatles
wear red carnations...while Paul wears a black one, indicating death...
